If you’re planning on camping in North Carolina, you have three primary options – you can head to the beach and sleep next to the ocean, you can camp near a big city like Raleigh or Charlotte, or you can get out into the wilderness.
For those who choose option three, Brevard, North Carolina, is the place to visit. Locals call it the “land of waterfalls,” as there are over 250 waterfalls within the county, and many of them involve relatively easy hikes. While you won’t be able to explore them all during your visit, some of these falls are spectacular and worth the trip.
Thankfully, there are also a ton of valuable campgrounds in and around Brevard to make your accommodations easier. We’ve compiled a list of the top nine.

Land of Waterfalls RV Campground
RVing is another special type of camping, and RVers know what they want. This campground is designed to be as nature-friendly as possible, so we highly recommend it for those RVers who want to do a lot of hiking and exploring.
There are only 12 RV sites here, so be sure to book well in advance. However, with so few hookups available, you can avoid the crowds and hubbub that you might find at other RV parks closer to the city.
Land of Waterfalls caters to self-sufficient RVers who know what they’re doing. Although each site has full hookups available, you may not be able to get help connecting to each component, so newbies may struggle a bit.

Panther Ridge RV Park & Campground
If you want a campground that offers spectacular views just outside your tent or RV, then you want to book a spot at Panther Ridge. Mornings and evenings are the best times to experience this view, especially when the morning fog has already rolled in.
Other than the view, this RV park is pretty bare-bones, with standard hookups and picnic tables. So, you should plan to explore the nearby forest and hiking trails as much as possible (unless your goal is to just relax in nature).
